Increased support for unstructured data management market leaders. Vamosa, developer of the innovative Vamosa range of content migration and content engineering software, announced today that it has completed a £1.5million first round funding package, led by Bank of Scotland Corporate Banking.

Funds raised will be used to further enhance and extend Vamosa's presence within the unstructured data management (UDM) market, through corporate expansions plans and building on the success of its automated content migration solution, Vamosa Content Migrator.

In addition to the funding secured, parent company, Marcat, has appointed John Pocock, the former Managing Director of Druid, to the newly created position of Chairman. With 20 years' experience in the IT Industry, John has been integral in driving other technology companies to increased success, including leading the Druid management team to its £700million buy-out by FI Group. In conjunction with the strong management team, led by CEO George Knox, John will be integral in building the Marcat business and Vamosa brand, locally and globally.
Vamosa Content Migrator is currently deployed in several large, private and public organisations, including leading media distributor, Menzies, and the UK Department of Health. Vamosa is particularly topical within the public sector at present, as it has the capability of significantly automating the processes involved in making websites compliant with government interoperability requirements (such as eGOV, eGIF and eGMS), as well as helping with the Freedom of Information Act and accessibility requirements.
