Vamosa opens U.S. Office after Doubling Sales Growth

Vamosa, a leading software vendor in the Enterprise Content Management sector, has opened an office in Boston, MA. after a record year in which sales revenue doubled.

Headquartered in Glasgow, Vamosa's sales rose to £2m for the year ending April 2005 and in the process converted a £200,000 loss for the previous year to a profit of £500,000.

The ambitious move is the next logical step in the growth of Vamosa as the Scottish firm seeks to capitalise on recent successes and take advantage of the massive opportunity that the U.S market presents. A number of staff from the Glasgow office will move to Boston to "jump-start" operations there and expand the team locally.

George Knox, Chief Executive at Vamosa said, "The last twelve months has seen the company move out of the development phase and into a new phase of growth and expansion as our product offering is recognised in a maturing market. We are perfectly positioned for continued growth in the coming year and have already secured a £1 million contract with the UK Department of Health and the Department of Education helping them deliver essential electronic services.

"We have an outstanding and innovative suite of established products backed by a team of highly motivated and experienced individuals. It is a combination that allows us to plan further expansion with great confidence.

"Almost all of our business comes from outside Scotland and the USA represents a massive potential market for Vamosa. Although the Boston office has only been open a few weeks we already have a strong sales pipeline and expect to be in a position to announce significant new business wins very soon. Additionally this year we agreed a global partnership with IBM that will accelerate our reach to new customers in all major worldwide markets."
