Ian Smith to Scale Vamosa Worldwide - Bringing Enterprise Content Governance Solutions to Market
Boston, US and London, UK - Vamosa, a provider of software and solutions for Enterprise Content Governance (ECoG), today announced that Ian Smith has been appointed as President, based in Boston. Smith will lead the expansion of Vamosa, building out the existing teams and processes to take advantage of the emerging ECoG market.
On the business benefits of ECoG, Smith believes ECoG is not an academic case study. It delivers four key results for clients:
1. Transforms content into findable knowledge, helping to reduce costs, increase efficiency and increase customer service
2. Lowers the cost of e-discovery
3. Monitors and maintains web site policies, reducing risk, and increasing interaction and sales
4. Delivers seamless migrations, cutting timescales, human error and of course, minimizing costs
"Many organizations need content governance but have yet to find a company that offers best-practice advice as well as solutions. Vamosa is able to combine rich experience, technology and processes to achieve ECoG," added Smith. "The potential for this market is huge and we will continue to scale using both direct and indirect channels including collaborating with world class CMS and DMS vendors as well as digital brand agencies, throughout EMEA and the US. The increasing size of the digital footprint presents urgent challenges to organizations worldwide and Vamosa is very well placed to deliver solutions."
Smith brings a wealth of expertise to the role, most recently having repositioned Massachusetts-based software group, Teamstudio, into a highly profitable IT Governance software and services business. Prior to his role at Teamstudio he built up two investment banking boutiques in London, completing many mergers and acquisitions as well as growing and repositioning companies. Smith has shown strong leadership skills from early on in his career, becoming one of the youngest divisional CFOs at Thomson International at just 26 years old.
"Vamosa has a strong presence in EMEA and we've penetrated the market in the US. We want to continue to grow in both markets but particularly in the US; with the range of legislations and regulations affecting businesses, the market is ripe for ECoG. Ian has an abundance of experience growing and transforming companies and is perfectly placed to help us achieve this," concluded George Knox, CEO Vamosa.
