George Knox - Chief Executive Officer
In 2000, George Knox became CEO of Vamosa. In this role, George seeks to deliver customers with control and structure to all enterprise content in a fully automated way with the broadest and most technologically advanced range of products and professional services. His vision for the customer has helped to define a software and solutions sector focused on the emerging area of Enterprise Content Governance (ECoG).
George has particular strengths in starting, growing and building innovative technology companies that understand the value proposition and requirements of large enterprises. George is evangelical in his commitment to building companies that are of exceptional value in their fields. He brings considerable entrepreneurial vision and management experience to talented teams, having established three technology companies which have all helped to shape technology to solve particular business issues for large enterprises.
During his twenty years working in the IT industry, George has gained experience in the Information Technology Services industry by providing CRM, Business Intelligence and e-business consultancy. He has developed strong partnerships with companies such as Business Objects, Oracle and Siebel Systems and also worked for Computer Associates for six years.
George has been able to establish a successful Scottish business and has grown it to become an international company with offices in London, New York and Boston.
He received his Bachelor's degree in Electronics from Glasgow Caledonian University.
Ian Smith - President
Ian has been transforming companies both in the States and Europe over the last 30 years. He believes in shaping strategy then translating it into operational actions. A Scot who has grown his career in London and Boston, he loves to build remarkable businesses and plans to scale Vamosa, to define and dominate the Enterprise Content Governance (ECoG) space.
Previous credits include the successful restructuring of Teamstudio, a software group HQ in Beverly, MA, from a loss-making software player in the Lotus Notes Development space to a highly profitable IT Governance software & services group in NALA, EMEA and APAC.
In London, he restructured a division of the FTSE 100 Capita Group, Capita Corporate Finance, into a leading advisor to SMBs, exclusively endorsed by the prestigious Institute of Directors. Ian was lead advisor on London's first privatization of the public transport system, with the management buy-out of CentreWest for approximately $50m. In the late 80s he built one of the first Independent Investment Banks in Europe, Livingstone Fisher Associates leading many M&A transactions.
His early career was with Thomsons, the publishing giant where he was fast-tracked through the business, becoming one of the youngest divisional CFOs at 26, winning the UK's top award for young entrepreneurial talent sponsored by the Observer Newspaper Group.
Ian graduated from the University of Strathclyde and is a Chartered Accountant of Scotland.
A keen runner, Ian is world ranked as a Masters athlete at 400m and 800m.
Nic Archer - Senior Vice President
Since joining Vamosa in 2001, Nic has helped transform the company into a sector-defining software and solutions company specializing in the emerging area of Enterprise Content Governance (ECoG). Nic has led the expansion of Vamosa in the US, while continuing to work closely with the UK team on Vamosa's strategy and vision for the recently launched suite of products.
Nic has had involvement with all of Vamosa's major customers helping to identify solutions for challenging problems. He's enabled major investment and insurance companies to move content away from legacy applications using his in-depth understanding of the way enterprise applications work behind the scenes. He's quick to understand the underlying business issue and help customers choose and implement the correct technology solutions in the most cost-effective and beneficial manner.
Nic has over 25 years of experience working in the IT industry in areas such as mainframe systems management and enterprise software. He has also built and run a successful business intelligence and CRM consultancy.
He received his MBA in 2001 from University of Strathclyde and a BSc in Chemistry from Kingston University.
Ger Burns - Global Services Director
Ger has extensive consulting experience in CRM, business intelligence and enterprise content management. Ger leads our global consulting organization, focused on delivery excellence and subject matter expertise.
Ijonas Kisselbach - Chief Technology Officer
Ijonas, always at the forefront of technology, has spent the last ten years in pioneering roles within various technology organizations - from start-ups through to global corporations. Ijonas blends his technology insight with business savvy, to lead the technology agenda for Vamosa.
Alistair Manson - SVP - Business Development - EMEA
Alistair leads the business development team in EMEA. Alistair has broad and deep experience working with large corporate customers implementing enterprise systems.
Ceri Jones - VP - Marketing
Ceri has over 20 years experience in marketing for both start-up and world renowned technology companies. His role as Vice President of Marketing- focuses on developing and coordinating Vamosa's go-to-market strategies.
Sam Simpson - Chief Financial Officer
Sam has responsibility for corporate development and is a member of the Board. He is a KPMG trained chartered accountant.
